In
Islam there are many types of worship, any good action can be counted
as an act of worship, but the two most important types of worship
and prayer are:
Salaah, which is the daily ritual prayers.
Remembrance of Allah’s name, which in Arabic (Zikr) which can be
made at any time and in any place.
Salaah is the second Pillars of Islam and is one of the most important
pillars. Practising Muslims perform this sacrament five times a
day. However for the new Muslim to begin with, it is important learn
the basics structure of the prayer and then step by step learn more
and add to it until it be perfect inshaAllah . One does not expect
from a new worshippers to do exactly the same as the worshippers
who are worshipping for decades. In Islam one does as one can.
As Allah states in the holy Quran: "Allah never burdens a soul
beyond its means":) (chapter2 verse 286), and Allah state in
(chapter 64,verse16 )” “fear Allah and do what you can” in way of
worship.
Step 3- Preparing for Prayer, This is section is only for the very
new worshipper.
Before any Muslim start to perform the prayer, He or she needs to
perform ablution (washing before prayer). This is known as Wudhu.
The
full version is as follows:
1: wash the hands clean up to the wrist.
2: wash the entire face,
3: With the left hand, wash the right hand from your fingertips
(wrist) to your elbow ( 1 or 3 times).
4: With right hand wash the left hand from fingertips (wrist) to
the elbow (1 or 3 times).
5: Move the palm of the wet hand over the head, starting from top
of the forehead to the back. Then, rub wet fingers into the grooves
of both ears, this action called "Masah".
6: Then, wash the right foot (1 or 3 times). In some case Masah
is sufficient.
7: Then, wash the left foot (1 or 3 times). In some case Masah is
sufficient.
It is advisable that Muslims to follow this simple procedure, however
if one for any reason is unable to perform these actions, do not
let him or her stop from praying. Just try to wash you face and
hands and as many other areas as possible, with the intention to
become clean for prayer.
Note:
If a worshipper for do not find water or find the water will harm
him then the worshipper can perform Tayammum. Instead of Wudhu.
Standing for pray:
Although it may appear difficult, the structure of the prayer can
actually be learnt in few minutes.
The first step is to learn the structure of the prayer, then perform
it as many times as possible during the day.
